Fire Minister Shahid Malik spoke on 18 November at the Asian Fire Service Association annual conference in Birmingham, saying that the Fire and Rescue Service has a central role to play in tackling inequality, promoting opportunity and improving fire safety to bring down accidental fires in all communities.
